The HID Crescendo 4000 Dual Interface Smart Card is a next-generation identity credential that merges strong digital authentication, secure physical access, and backwards compatibility in a single solution. Featuring FIDO2 for passwordless login, PIV-compatible certificate support, and an integrated MIFARE DESFire® EV3 chip with CUID matching, this card enables true phishing-resistant MFA across both logical and physical infrastructures. It also includes a magstripe for legacy system integration.
The dual interface (contact + contactless) provides flexibility for smart card logon, PKI-based workflows, and tap-based building access, while the DESFire EV3 chip, matched to the FIDO credential via a shared CUID, supports encrypted access control with secure messaging and advanced file structures. The magnetic stripe allows continued use in older swipe-based systems such as time & attendance, access readers, or vending solutions.
