What is Module Embedding?
If you’ve heard the term module embedding but are unsure what it means, we can help. In short, module embedding is the process of adding a smart chip, either memory or microcontroller, to a plastic card by milling a profile in the card and bonding the module in place.
We have automated secure card production services that can produce thousands of cards a day from our technical centre.
Our PCI Card Production Services
Our team have years of experience producing cards securly and they are also well-versed in carrying out the ISO testing needed to ensure compatibility with all major brands of reader technology. We utilise specialist testing equipment to continuously check products as well as conducting a full visual and electronic verification of every card.
Our module embedding and PCI card production services are part of our bureau services for personalisation, encoding and fullfilment located at our Technical Centre in Portsmouth.
Cards that have been manufactured by our Universal Smart Cards team are currently in use all over the world.
What Sets Our Secure Card Manufacturing Apart?
At Universal Smart Cards, we utilise a number of technologies that set us apart from other PCI card manufacturers. We work with Infineon Tecnologies AG, a leading global silicon manufacturer, to develop a solution to manufacture dual interface micro-controller chip cards.
These cards can be used for a number of different applications including payment, authentication, certification, healthcare, biometrics and Government IDs.
Our innovative technology allows us to hold chip modules in stock and create card bodies at our PCI card manufacturerer on demand. Finished dual interface microcontroller cards can be completed in as little as four weeks – which is much faster than the usual 12-16 weeks you migh be waiting using other card manufacturers.
This technology also means we can offer lower minimum order quantities so no order is too big (or too small) for our team.
