ICODE

ICODE is a family of IC's from NXP targeting largely high-frequency (13.56Mhz) solutions for smart card labels. With wide-scale adoption in the field, this 'vicinity' RFID technology is operating according to ISO/IEC 15693 and is ISO/IEC 18000-3 compliant following NFC Forum Tag Type 5 specifications. For customers needing that extra read range, ICODE provides that additional range over ISO/IEC 14443 with up to (depending on the reader) 1.5m with long read range readers. If using standard ISO/IEC 15693 readers, there is still good read distances with our range of labels, tags, cards, and wet & dry inlay.

We are also starting to see a demand for tags in the IOT space due to the additional read distance for extra small form factors and NFC mobile phone readability with compliance to NFC Tag Type 5.  Security features include EAS protection, Application Family Identifier (AFI) protection, and memory protection using a 32-bit password or AES-128 bit with ICODE DNA.
