It was a great privilege for Michael and I to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace for this year’s recipients of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The Reception was hosted by HRH Prince Charles and flanked by Princess Beatrice and the Duke of Gloucester. Around 500 guests from winning companies sipped champagne and nibbled on hors d’oeuvres in the Royal Gallery.
As I said when we were first notified about the Award that it is tremendous honour For Universal Smart Cards to be in the handful of companies recognised each year in the different categories. It is recognition of and testament to all the tremendous effort that the talent of the people at Universal. Well done, everyone. Such a prestigious stamp of approval will help boost our profile and credibility and should lead to further success.
We look forward to receiving the actual award which will be given to us at the Accrington office by the Queen’s representative in Lancashire, the Lord Lieutenant, Lord Shuttleworth, in the Autumn. More champagne I suspect.
